Principal's Message

Welcome to Cameron

Welcome to Cameron Elementary!

I am very excited to join the great staff as the new principal. I am entering my 18th year in the field of education. I was at Edgewood Middle and High Schools here in West Covina for the past three years. Aside from my teaching credential, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in developmental psychology, two Master of Arts degrees in education, and an Educational Doctorate degree in educational leadership. I look forward to bringing my training and experience to Cameron Elementary School and continue the great tradition of learning that has been taking place at Cameron. There are so many exciting and unique things happening! During this 2016-2017 school year, Cameron staff will continue to participate in training and implementing the components of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years’ Programme. We are also excited to participate in the district-wide kinder through 3rd grade Reading Initiative to ensure that every student leaves third grade reading at grade-level. Knowing that taking care of our bodies is just as important as nurturing our mind, we hope to greatly increase the number of students who participate in the 100 Mile Club.

One of the most important factors that influence student success in school is the partnership between the school and families. With that in mind, we are committed to keeping lines of communication open. We also encourage you to join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which works diligently to arrange parent volunteers, fundraising, and plan fun family nights. Your membership dues go right back to Cameron students, and we thank you for your support!

I look forward to an exciting year at Cameron Elementary in which every child will grow and develop academically and socially. Thank you for your commitment and support this year.
